UIN Jakarta can be Part of the World’s Top 500 Universities Print E-mail

Syahida Inn-UIN Online- In order to evaluate and improve the performance and discuss the various design of issues that must be followed up this year, the university held an Executive Working Meeting (Rakerpim) in Syahida Inn, Thursday-Friday (14-15/1). The meeting was attended by heads of the university, faculties, departments, work units and study centers of UIN.

In his welcoming speech Rector Prof Komaruddin Hidayat said that this Rakerpim was held at the end of his tenure this year. In his last term of office, the rector intended to make strategic policies that can improve the quality of UIN in the years to come.

According to the rector, some government officials were very impressed to see the physical development, the accomplishment and political and social communication that UIN has achieved. He requested that everything that has been achieved must be maintained and be something to be grateful for. “In the future, we want UIN to gradually become a university or icon that Indonesian Muslim can be proud of. We must be convinced that UIN will be part of the world’s top 500 universities. To achieve this requires time and consistency,” he said.

The rector also asserted that UIN will remain committed to give opportunities to boarding school communities to study at UIN. The support to boarding community is a special character of the campus. Under his leadership, the rector asserted that the leadership has always tried to improve the facilities and infrastructures that are needed by academic community. Some of the facilities that have been built under his leadership are Psychology Faculty Building, Ma’had Ali, bank, hospital, canteen and bus shelter.

In addition, the leadership also has provided training and scholarship for lecturers, and has created a financial reporting system which is more transparent and accountable. Besides that, in the future UIN has planned the improvement of the quality of academic and administration service, the reinforcement of more transparent and accountable financial system, the improvement in information system and student service, construction of digital library, construction of Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Building and the construction of larger hall/auditorium.
