UIN Jakarta-Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran will Hold Friendship Week Print E-mail

Diorama Romm, UIN Online-UIN Jakarta in cooperation with the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran will hold Muslim University Students Friendship Week. The event will take place in Main Auditorium on March, 9 until 11, 2010.

 

Vice Rector of Institutional Development of UIN Jakarta stated that cooperation activities with Iran have actually been carried out many times. This time, the cooperation will be in the form of holding various cultural attractions from both countries, such as dance, music, screening, exhibition, and calligraphy writing.

“We hope this cooperation will be able to strengthen the friendship between Indonesia and Iran, especially among muslim university students,” said Sudarnoto in a preparatory meeting for the friendship week in Diorama Room, Wednesday (3/3).

He stated that Iran has a close relationship with Indonesia. Besides having Muslim majority population both countries also have the same vision in supporting science and technological development for the welfare and advancement of mankind.

“Recently Iran has became one of the developed country in Middle East Region with its technological power,” he added. Therefore Indonesia, especially UIN Jakarta, hopes to exchange experiences and information on what Iran has achieved in the present century.

According to plan, the event will be opened by Iran Ambassador for Indonesia, His Excellency Behrooz Kamalvandi. Another activity will be the signing of cooperation between UIN Jakarta and Sureh Higher Education, Teheran, Iran, in the field of education and research. (Jamilah/ns)
