IN THE PAST FEW YEARS, the number of students at the Faculty of Shari'a and Law has increased due to increased community interest in the study programs offered by the Faculty.

The Faculty of Shari'a and Law aims to develop Islamic as well as positive law. It aims to prepare professional graduates with expertise in the field of Islamic law. Below is the list of the departments that it includes:

  1. Islamic Personal Law
  2. Islamic Criminal Law and Legal-Political Science
  3. Comparative Jurisprudence and Legal-Political Law
  4. Mu'amalat

Islamic Personal Law

1. Islamic courts

THIS STUDY PROGRAM AIMS to prepare the students in the field of Islamic court law, so that they are able to carry cut their duties in the interests of the nation and society.

The core subjects in this program include: Legal Proceedings in Islamic Law Courts, Islamic Jurisprudence on Marriage, Islamic Jurisprudence on Inheritance, Civil Law, Criminal Law, Islamic Court Law in Indonesia, Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence, and Islamic Civil Law in Indonesia.

2. Administration of Islamic Personal Law

THIS STUDY PROGRAM AIMS to prepare students in the field of the administration of Islamic personal law and provide them with the ability to fulfill their duties in accordance with their expertise.

The core subjects offered include: Islamic Jurisprudence on Marriage, Islamic Jurisprudence on Mu'amalat, Islamic Jurisprudence on Inheritance, Civil Law in Indonesia. International Civil Law, Criminal Law, State Administration Law, Legal Proceedings of Islamic Law Courts, Agricultural Law, Marriage and Family Counseling. Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence, and Islamic Civil Law in Indonesia.


2. Islamic Criminal Law and Legal-Political Science

  • ISLAMIC CRIMINAL LAW

THIS STUDY PROGRAM AIMS to produce scholars with expertise in the field of Islamic criminal law. The core subjects offered in this program include: Quranic Exegesis. Quranic Verses on Law, Prophetic Traditions on Law, the Philosophy of Islamic Law, the History of the Islamic Legal System, Islamic Jurisprudence on Criminal Law, Islamic Jurisprudence on Inheritance, Islamic Jurisprudence on Marriage, Criminal Law and Legal Proceedings of Criminal Law, Islamic Law in Indonesia. Comparative Islamic Thought on Criminal Law, Criminology, and Legal-political Research Methodology.

  • ISLAMIC LEGAL-POLITICAL SCIENCE

THIS STUDY PROGRAM AIMS to produce scholars with expertise in the field of legal-political science. Core subjects include: Quranic Verses on Law, Prophetic Traditions on Law. Legal Sciences, Islamic Jurisprudence on Systems of Government, the Philosophy of Islamic Law, the History of the Islamic Legal System, Contemporary Islamic Jurisprudence. Islamic Law in Indonesia, Comparative Islamic Thought on Mu'amalat Laws, Comparative Islamic Thought on Criminal Law, Legal-political Research Methodology, and Criminology.


3. Comparative Jurisprudence and Law

  • COMPARATIVE ISLAMIC JURISPRUDENCE

THIS STUDY PROGRAM AIMS to produce scholars wich expertise in the field of comparative thought in Islamic jurisprudence and its application. The core subjects offered in this program include: Quranic Exegesis of Law, Prophetic Traditions of Law, the Science of Law, Comparative Thought on Mu'amalat Laws, and Contemporary Islamic Jurisprudence.

  •  COMPARATIVE LAW

THIS STUDY PROGRAM is to produce scholars with expertise in the field of comparative law. The core subjects in this program include : the Science of Law, Comparative Law and Legal Systems, Islamic Law. Orientalism in Islamic Law, Legal Proceedings in Civil Law and Criminal Law, Comparative Jurisprudence on Criminal Law. Comparative Thought on Mu'amalat Laws, and Research


4. Mu’amalat

  • SHARI'A BANKING

PARALLEL TO THE RAPID DEVELOPMENT of the banking system. Islamic banking has also increasingly attracted attention from various circles. Therefore, it is important that studies on Islamic economics, especially Islamic banking, are prioritized. This study program aims to produce professional personnel in the field of Shari'a banking in order to meet the demand for these skills in Islamic banking institutions and other financial institutions.

The core subjects offered in this program include: The Science of Macro Economics, Banking, Islamic Jurisprudence in Mu'amalat, Islamic Micro Economics, Muslim Economic institutions, Shari'a Banking Management, Shari'a Banking Accounting. Shari'a Banking Law. Commercial Law, Non-Bank Financial Institutions, Financial Management, Marketing Management, Mathematics, Economic Statistics and Shari'a Banking Practices.

  • ISLAMIC INSURANCE

THIS STUDY PROGRAM AIMS to produce graduates with expertise in the field of Islamic insurance, with the ability to apply these skills in appropriate institutions. The core subjects offered in this program include: the Science of Macro Economics, Insurance Management, Islamic Jurisprudence on Mu'amalat, Introduction to Accounting, Islamic Micro Economics, Islamic Insurance Accounting. Accountancy Law, Islamic Insurance Investment, Entrepreneurship, Commercial Law, Islamic Insurance Management, Financial Management. Marketing Management, Mathematics and the Statistics of Insurance.
